New Insurance Plans, New Options for Chamber Members

Chamber Insurance & Benefits, LLC (CIB) announced a new renewal rate structure for some of its individual employer groups, effective July 2012. This rate restructuring coincides
with the roll-out of new plans and coverage features available to renewing members, as well as members not currently enrolled in the Chamber Health Plan who may be exploring their options for affordable health care.
The rate changes taking place are designed to ensure the Chamber can continue to offer employers a variety of affordable, comprehensive insurance products. While in some cases renewal rates may increase, there are also instances where rates will decrease.
These rate adjustments are in conjunction with the launch of several new products designed to help employer groups decrease their overall insurance costs while expanding coverage choices. This includes the introduction of two new prescription coverage options, as well as single parent and child rates.
The program will offer an 18-month guarantee and will continue to have tiered rating, rather than an age-rated system, for groups with 2-50 full-time employees. “This is a good time to talk to your broker about the best way to maximize your insurance plan so it meets your needs in a comprehensive, affordable way,” says CIB president Bill Wright. “Our goal is that of our members – to provide the most affordable and reliable insurance coverage possible. I’m confident that when members review their policies and discuss renewal options with their brokers, they’ll see that the Chamber Health Plan continues to be one of the most competitive coverage options in the market.”
Wright points out that even when the rate changes go into effect, the Chamber’s group insurance will remain one of the most competitive plans on the market, offering significant coverage options at lower costs than many other carriers. The Chamber Health Plan offers the buying power of larger companies to the small business employer and offers and premium discount. Recent market review indicates that the Chamber Health Plan will continue to be aggressively priced within the Southern Nevada market.
